Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a motive power loss and enable the operation of a pump with energy economization, by effecting control so that the discharge quantity of the pump can optionally be set external operating pressure and be kept constant despite the change in the discharge pressure of the pump. CONSTITUTION:When a pump is dirven without application of external operating pressure, the discharge quantity of the pump is maximum and some of the discharged fluid flows from a discharge passage 17 to a pressure passage 26 and is introduced into the rear chamber 14 on a control plunger 14 through a control passage 28 to tilt a swash plate 6 to its neutral position for the minimum discharge quantity. Under no load, feathering operation can be effected if the external operating pressure is not applied. When an operating valve 20 is shifted by applying the external operating pressure, the rear chamber 14a is connected to a tank through the control passage 28 and a tank passage 30 so that the swash plate 6 is tilted and maintained in a position for a discharge quantity corresponding to the external operating pressure.
