Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove the sliding resistance of a cam ring and to improve responseness for control by a method wherein a piston device is made up by a piston sliding in a cylinder so that a cam ring is pushed by the piston.
CONSTITUTION: When discharge pressure from a discharge port 106 falls, the valve body 151 of a regulator valve 150 is moved by a spring 153 in the left direction in the figure, reduces the supply of fluid to a passage 113 and lowers fluid pressure in a control chamber 145. Accordingly, the compressive force also of a piston 141 reduces, immediately a cam ring 130 is revolved smoothly by the energizing force of a spring 136 on the side of the maximum position about a pivot 133 to increase the discharge flow from a discharge port 106. In this way, since the position of the cam ring 130 is controlled without sliding resistance so that the liquid pressure given to the control chamber 145 and the energizing force of the spring 136 are always balanced, the pressure of the discharged fluid alway can be fixed.
