PURPOSE:To increase the basic performance of a color cathode-ray tube, and reduce the cost of the cathode-ray tube by using Y2O2S:Eu phosphor added with a pigment as a red-color emitting phosphor element for the fluorescent screen of a face plate glass containing an appropriate amount of Nd2O3. CONSTITUTION:A face plate glass 1 contains an appropriate amount of Nd2O3 so that its spectral transmissivity curve corresponds to that of glass containing 0.3-1.5wt% of Nd2O3, when its thickness is 10mm.. Then, a fluorescent screen consisting of a trichromatic phosphor element group 2 (red R, green G and blue B) is provided on the inner wall of the glass 1.
