CONSTITUTION:A filter 3 made of glass containing praseodymium ions (Pr<2+>) is arranged in the green light path 5 between a cathode-ray tube 1G with a fluorescent screen 2G made of a terbium-activated phosphor and an image firming screen 6. The unnecessary auxiliary luminescence of the green luminescence of the terbium-activated phosphor at 480-500nm and 580-600nm can be suppressed by the absorption of Pr3<+>. The color purity is thereby improved, the color reproduction area for a color cathode-ray tube projector is expanded, and the color aberration can be reduced.
