Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent chromic aberration by fitting an optical filter with high transmittivity for specified colors to a plastic lens. CONSTITUTION:A ray of light from a green cathode-ray tube (CRT) 1 is focused on a screen 3 by a plastic lens 2. Since a phosphor with green, yellow and red luminous spectra are used for the fluorescent screen of green CRT1, a plastic lens 2 can not correct the chromic aberration of yellow and red only by itself. Therefore, a color filter 4 which has approximately 100% transmittibity for the wavelength of green light but low transmittibity for the wavelength of yellow and red light is fitted to the plastic lens 2.
