Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve optical transmission efficiency and brightness by vertically baking the fluorescent material which is transparent or semitransparent and is grown into columnar crystals.
CONSTITUTION: The phosphor 12 which is transparent or semitransparent and is grown in columnar crystals is baked vertically on the interior surface of the plate 11. Non-luminous black material, for example, carbon 13 divides between the phosphors 12. When the electrons from an electron gun pass through the aluminum film 14 and arrive at the phosphor 12, specified fluorescent colors are generated. This light beam goes straight in the columnar crystal of the phosphor 12 and is generated as visible rays from the glass bulb front through the face plate 11. The phosphor 12 forms an optical path.
