Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize efficiently the acceleration energy of electrons by constutiting a fluorescent screen with fast and slow electron beam exciting phosphor material layers. CONSTITUTION:A light absorptive graphite film 2 is provided on the inside surface of a glass panel 1, and tri-color phosphor stripe green 5G, blue 5B, and red 5R comprising slow electron beam exciting luminous phosphor is provided on it, and tri-color phosphor stripe green 3G, blue 3B, and red 3R comprising fast electron beam exciting phosphor on it separately. And then, a metal back layer 4 for light reflection is provided. ZnO:Zn for green, (ZnS:AgCl)+In2O3 for blue, and (Y2O2S: Eu)+In2O3 for red are used as slow electron beam exciting phosphor. When an electron beam with 20kV is irradiated on the fluorescent screen of this invention the acceleration energy is reduced if fast electron beam exciting phosphor exhibits the fluorescence but the acceleration energy can be utilized effectively, because slow electron beam exciting phosphor exhibits fluorescence with a low acceleration energy.
