Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a plane type television which projects a picture with three kinds of coloring matter by providing a vacuum holow glass fiber tube with a cathode at one terminal and a light-transmissive anode at the other terminal, and providing electron tubes in parallel which make the light of fluorescent coloring matter emit by cathode rays, in the same plane. CONSTITUTION:A thin hollow glass fiber tube 3 of micron size is evacuated and has a cathode 1 at one terminal and an anode 2 at the other; and the anode 2 uses a transparent electrode to permit cathode rays to pass through it. The transmitted cathode rays allow fluorescent materials 5 of three primary colors, of TV, i.e., red, green and blue, to emit light. Thus formed electron tubes are arranged in the same plane to form a light-transmissive electron tube 7. On a screen (light emission surface) 6, a clear and fine picture of good quality is projected and thin plane television is obtained.
