Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve mechanical and electrical characteristics by forming a main insulation layer which is formed outside a coil proper by hardening after winding mica tape applied with resin not treated for setting and, in addition to this, by forming a protective casing by heating and pressing the entire work covered with SMC (molding compound). CONSTITUTION:The coil proper 1 is composed of aluminum conductor 2 with an insulation film 3 interlaid which are wound into a few turns of a coiled layer with the insulation film 3 interlaid. Next, the main insulation layer 4 is fomred by heat-setting of many turns of a prepreged laminated mica sheet 5 with stage A epoxy resin 6 applied. In addition to those, a shield layer 7 is provided outside the main insulation layer 4 in such a manner as the work is wrapped up with wire cloth provided with a narrow spacing so as not to form a closed circuit and not to produce any circulating current. After this, the work is covered with SMC and is heated and pressed in metal mold to set in specified shape of the protective casing 8. This construction is to improve mechanical and electrical characteristics because electrical stress is taken up by the main insulation layer and mechanical stress is by the protective casing of SMC respectively.
