Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the durability of a coil for an electric machine against thermal stress and bending stress by winding a laminated mica tape and a flake mica tape to form an insulating layer to be wound on the outer periphery of a coil conductor and forming the layer of the laminated mica tape less than 30% of the insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:When an insulating layer 7 is wound and formed on the outer periphery of a coil conductor 9, a backing material 1 of insulating paper and a laminated mica tape 4 made of a laminated mica sheet 2 and a synthetic fiber 3 are so wound that the lumped mica sheet is disposed at the side of the coil conductor to form a laminated mica tape layer 10. Then, the material 1 and a flake mica tape 6 made of a flake mica layer 5 and a synthetic fiber 3 are then wound to form a flake mica tape layer 11. In this case, the number of turns of the laminated mica tape layer 10 is selected so as to become less than 30% of the entire layer 7. Then, resin is immersed in the layer 7.
