Abstract
PURPOSE:To make insulation for a connected portion of a coil easy without requiring large space at the installation in the field by winding the insulative tape around the coil conductor having an elliptic cross section and then curing it to cause shrinkage by heating. CONSTITUTION:An insulative tape is wound around a coil conductor 5 in an elliptic cross sectional form to form an insulative layer 7 and a heat shrinkable tape 9 is wound up therearound. Then, the coil is heated to cure the insulative tape 7 and press the insulative layer 7 by the shrinkage of the heat shrinkable tape 9. By so doing, the heat shrinkable tape preeses uniformly the insulative layer 7 to the coil conductor 5 over all its outer surface and makes the insulative layer 7 to be cured uniformly by the shrinkage, since the coil conductor 5 has a curvature over all its outer surface. Therefore, when the coil is connected in the field, highly reliable insulation can be obtained without requiring any special insulating apparatus.
