Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermion emission cathode wherein the top end part of an electron emission cathode made of LaB6 is composed of a two planes-crossed body containing at least more than one of plane azimuth 100; also at least one of planes azimuth 100 is left it is, and the other plane is covered with a electron emission suppressed film whose work function is comparatively large. Consequently, a low exponential crystal face appears on the side plane.
