Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of slackness by controlling the delivery of a wire drawn out of a capillary at predetermined timing while being made correspond to the vertical movement of the capillary by means of a clamper and generating tension to the wire. CONSTITUTION:Both the first and second clampers 5, 6 are under opening conditions, and a pole 3a of a wire tip drawn out of the capillary 4 is positioned at an electrode on a semiconductor chip 1. Both the capillary 4 and the first clamper 5 are dropped, and the wire tip 3a is bonded first. The capillary 4 and the first clamper 5 are lifted, and the wire 3 is moved up to the position of a lead end 7 while being pulled. The capillary 4 positioned is dropped while the second clamper 6 is operated on the midway of reaching to the lead end 7, and the wire 3 is clamped. The wire 3 is bonded to the lead end 7 at the second time under a condition that tension is generated to the wire 3.
