Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the dosage of a flocculating agent and formed sludge in flocculation of the phosphorus dissolved in water by bringing settled sludge and raw water into contact in a fore-stage treatment then subjecting these to flocculation and settling treatment and returning the settled sludge to the fore stage.
CONSTITUTION: The raw water in which phosphorus components are dissolved enters a cntact tank 1 of a fore-stage treatment device 3, where it contacts with flocculated and settled sludge, whereby the adsorption of the phosphorus components by the sludge is accomplished. Thence, it enters a settling and separating tank 2, where the sludge is ettled and separated. The supernatant thereof enters an agitating tank 4 of a post-stage treatment device 7, where a flocculating agent such as aluminum sulfate is added and mixed at the dosage corresponding to the residual phosphorus components. Thence, it enters a flocculating tank 5 where flocculation takes place and further it is conducted into a settling and separating tank 6, where the sludge adsorbing the phosphorus components in settled and separated. The deposited and flocculated sludge is withdrawn through a sludge return pipe 8, and is returned into the contact tank 1 of the fore-stage treatment where it contacts with the with the raw water.
