Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to carry out a succeeding main treating procedure efficiently by a method wherein, in a stage prior to the treatment of waste water discharged from a slaughter house or the like by activated sludge, the waste water is subjected to the activated sludge treatment and the flocculation treatment while staying in a storage tank.
CONSTITUTION: Raw waste water is passed through a sand pit P and a screen S to remove solid substances contained therein and introduced into a storage tank 1. Here, excessive activated sludge from an activated sludge treatment, which is a main treatment, is returned to the storage tank 1 to carry out the aeration treatment. Thereafter, the waste water is passed through a screen 2 and introduced into a weighing device 3 in order to regulate the amount of the waste water sent to the secceeding treatment stage to a constant amt. and, after being weighed enters into a flucculation tank 4 to carry out the flocculation treatment.
