Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a heat resistant 12% Cr steel with superior creep strength at high temp. by providing a composition prepared by adding a specified amount each of Cr, C, Mn, Mo, Si, Ni, V, Nb, N, W and B to Fe.
CONSTITUTION: The chemical composition of a steel is composed of, by wt., 10W13% Cr, 0.15W0.3% C, 0.5W1% Mn, 0.5W2% Mo, <0.6% Si, 0,2W1% Ni, 0.1W0.3% V, 0.3W0.7% Nb, 0.04W0.1% N, 0.5W1.5% W, 0.01W0.025% B and the balance Fe with accompanying impurities. This steel is melted, cast, heat forged, hardened by coil quenching, and temperered by heating and air cooling to obtain a heat resistant 12% Cr steel.
