Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the color mixture and the lowering of the development density in the tri-color recording, by performing the negative exposure and the inversion development in the first and the second exposure and development and by performing the positive exposure and the normal development in the third exposure and development. CONSTITUTION:When a recording material 1 charged uniformly is subjected to the first and the second negative exposure and inversion development, the quantity of charged electric charge of a toner 10 stuck to the second latent image 19 is made larger than that of a toner 6 stuck to the first latent image 18 to prevent the toner 10 from sticking onto the toner 6. Next, when the recording material 1 is subjected to positive exposure by the third light 21, the third latent image 22 becomes a positive latent image of a charged potential Vo, and places where toners 6 and 10 are stuck have respective toner potentials, and other regions have the residual potential, and they have a low potential together. Therefore, when the third latent image 22 is developed by the third toner 23 which is charged with the polarity opposite to that of the charged potential, the toner 23 does not stick onto toners 6 and 10. Consequently, the color mixture and the lowering of density are prevented.
