Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Said contact material is formed by adding 3W8wt% as In of In2O3, 0.5W5wt% as Zn of ZnO and 0.01W1wt% of ≥1 kind of iron group element selected from Fe, Co and Ni to a silver matrix. In order to manufacture the contact material, such prescribed amounts of In, Zn and one or more among Fe, Co and Ni are added to silver, and they are melted in an inert gaseous atmosphere to prepare an alloy. This alloy is subjected to prescribed working and internally oxidized to selectively oxidize In and Zn. Thus, the desired contact material is manufactured.
