Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the fusion bonding resistance of an Ag-oxide electrical contact material contg. SnO2 and CdO dispersed in Ag and stabilize the contact resistance thereof by blending the material with Sn and Cd in a specified ratio to adjust the SnO2 and CdO content to a specified vol%.
CONSTITUTION: SnO2 and CdO are used as metal oxides of an Ag-oxide electrical contact material contg. the oxide disperesed in Ag, and the Sn and Cd contents of the material are adjusted to 5.5W11wt% Sn and 1W10 wt% Cd. In addition, it is required to adjust the total amount of SnO2 and CdO to ≤25vol%. So, alloy powder of Ag-Sn(5.5W11wt%)-Cd(1W10wt%) is prepared and internally oxidized to form Ag-oxide powder, which is sintered and plastically worked.
