Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The silver alloy to which 5W10wt% of tin is contained as a solute metal and, moreover, In is contained in such as amount that a total content of tin and In is 6W16wt% is prepared. Subsequently, said silver alloy is subjected to the internal oxidation, for example, at 700°C in an oxygen atmosphere to obtain the electric contact material comprising silver oxide and a metal oxide. As the result, the electric contact material enabled to add a large amount of tin in place of Cd harmful to a human body conventionally used as the solute metal is obtained.
