Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture easily and surely an integrated high and low pressure rotor or the like by remelting a steel ingot having a single composition by a consumption system arc melting method while suitably changing the melting atmosphere from a vacuum or an inert gas atmosphere to a nitrogen atmosphere between the first half and the latter half of the remelting or during the remelting.
CONSTITUTION: An Fe alloy contg. by wt., 0.05W0.3% C, <0.1% Si, 0.3W1.5% Mn, 0.5W13% Cr, 0.5W2% Mo, 0.1W0.5% V, 0.5W2% Ni and 0.01W0.5% Nb or Ta is forged to manufacture a steel ingot having said single composition. This ingot is remelted by a consumption system arc melting method while changing the remelting atmosphere from a vacuum or an inert gas atmosphere to a ni- trogen atmosphere at any time during the remelting to add 0.01W0.2% N. Thus, a single ingot having a partially different composition is manufactured. This ingot is formed into the shape of an integrated high and low pressure turbine rotor or the like.
