Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a high Ni-alloy type welding wire which contains Mo, B, Fe, C, Mn, and separately one or more kinds of Nb, Si and Al, respectively at prescribed ratios, consists of the balance Ni, and has various superior performances as welded, for welding low-temp. steels.
CONSTITUTION: This welding wire is constituted by contg. 10W30% Mo, 0.0001W 0.01% B, ≤10% Fe, ≤0.1% C and ≤0.5% Mn, respectively, contg. total ≥1% one or more kinds among Nb, Si and Al, and consisting of the balance Ni with unavoidable impurities. In this welding wire, Ni having superior low-temp. toughness is used particularly as one of its essential components and the strength and cracking resistance are further enhanced by Mo. The degradation in forgeability on account of Mo addition is eliminated by B, and the degradation in bending per formance and cracking resistance by B addition is suppressed by limiting (Nb+Si+ Al) amounts. This welding wire is suitable as a welding material for Ni-contg. low- temp. steel consisted essentially of 9% Ni steel.
