Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical fiber connector having excellent workability and high optical transmission efficiency, by providing a sleeve plunger having a pair of collet chucks that engage the cylinder holes formed at both sides of a guide hole which can be concentrically butted with an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A split chuck 51 of a sleeve 5 in a plunger sleeve 4 is fastened so that an optical fiber 9 is put through the collet chuck sleeve 5. Then a flange part 53 of the sleeve 5 is tapped. Thus the fiber 9 is fed to the center part. When a prescribed space is obtained to the tip of the fiber 9 fed from both sides of a guide hole 2, a fine adjustment nut at the side where a compression spring 6s having the smaller compression degree is fastened. Thus the fiber 9 has a microadvance to secure a contact of edge faces between two fibers. In such a way, an optical connector having exellent workability and high optical transmission efficiency can be obtained.
