Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a core movement preventing device superior in economical, efficiency, reliability, and workability, by forming a taper, which reacts against the movement of an optical fiber core, in the cylindrical member or the hole part having a large diameter of a backup metallic mold which holds the optical fiber core in itself. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber core is held between two chips 21 and 22 constituting a cylindrical member 20 and is press-fitted into a hole part 12 having a large diameter of a backup metallic mold 10. Since a taper narrowed toward the depth is formed in the hole part 12 having a large diameter, chips 21 and 22 are pressed from sides to clamp the optical fiber core. Thus, since the optical fiber core is clamped in accordance with pressure and is prevented from moving, a preventing device for movement of the optical fiber core superior in economical efficiency, reliability, and workability is obtained.
