Abstract

PURPOSE: To extract stored energy at brake operation efficiently for use at restarting, by arranging rotary speed transmission ratio for the power recovery flywheel of an engine drive shaft larger at deceleration and release from idling state than the ratio at brake operation.
CONSTITUTION: In accordance with detection of depression of a brake pedal, an electromagnet 24 is electrically conducted to stop the rotary motion of a disc 23, and turning force of an internal gear 14 is transmitted through a sun gear 21 to an energy recovery flywheel 16 to increase its rotary speed. Rotary motion of the flywheel 16 at not less than prescribed high speed cuts off an ignition circuit and fuel circuit to interrupt combustion. At restarting, an electromagnet 29 is electrically conducted to coaxially rotate a disc 28 with the recovery flywheel 16, then stored energy is transmitted to a crankshaft through a drive shaft 8 and gears 7, 6 with large reduction ratio and torque.
