Abstract

PURPOSE: To apply a regenerative brake both in DC and AC sections by simple circuit constitution through the series use of a DC chopper and a thyristor type rectifier instrument.
CONSTITUTION: In the DC section, the travelling contacts of AC-DC changers 2, 3 are connected to the DC side, a contactor 16a for power travelling is closed when power travelling, and a contactor 17a for regeneration is closed when the regenerative brake. In the AC section, the travelling contacts of the AC-DC changers 2, 3 are connected to the AC side. When power travelling, contactors 16aW16c for power travelling are closed, and the thyristor type rectifier instrument 5 full-wave rectifies the output of a transformer 4 while adjusting voltage and outputting it. When the regenerative brake, contactors 17aW17c for regeneration are closed, and the thyristor type rectifier instrument 5 converts fixed DC voltage obtained at both ends of a filter capacitor 13 into AC voltage and regenerates it to an electric-car line.
