Abstract

The bridge rectifies circuit for electric vehicles has at its d.c. side an equal number of m bridge branches with SC switches, where m is an integer equal to or greater than 2. The bridge is connected at its a.c side to an inductive a.c voltage source. At least one diode with the same forward direction is inserted between the a.c. voltage source connection and the SC switch in at least m bridge branches. The terminal of the diode not connected to the a.c source is connected through a commutation capacitor to the a.c. terminal of the SC diode in the cyclically following branch. An auxiliary capacitor is provided between the d.c. terminal and a charging diode connected to the a.c. source. A braking resistor (5) is connected to the d.c. terminals (3, 4) by a switch (6).
