Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a mold for continuous casting of effectively improved abrasion resistant by securing sintered alloy plates imparted with prescribed properties on the inside wall surface of the body of a mold consisting of metal such as copper. CONSTITUTION:As shown in the figure (a), a sintered alloy plate 2 is secured to the inside wall surface of the body 1 of a mold made of copper or copper alloy by a method of explosion welding or the like. This plate 2 can be formed of a sintered hard alloy, for example, a sintered alloy plate made by binding carbide of W, Ti, Ta, etc. with Fe group, particularly Co. Further, a chrome plating film 3 is formed on this plate 2 as a measure against splashes. If desired, sintered alloy plates 4, 5 of different characteristics are secured in two steps in the upper and lower parts of the inside wall surface of the body 1 as shown in the figure (b). If desired, the sintered alloy plate secured to the inside wall surface of the body of the mold is made freely attachable and detachable, and an Ni or Ni matrix film is provided on the upper part of the inside wall surface of the mold body.
