Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the erosion of a structural member due to molten zinc by manufacturing the member which is directly exposed to molten zinc in a galvanizing apparatus with a ferroalloy contg. specified alloying elements.
CONSTITUTION: A structural member directly contacting with molten zinc is manufactured with a ferroalloy by casting, working build-up welding, spraying or other method. The ferroalloy is an Fe alloy having a chemical composition consisting of 0.01W3% C, 0.01W2% Si, 0.01W2% Mn, 1W6% Nb and/or Ta, 1W10% Mo and/ or W, 10W30% Ni, 10W30% Co, 10W25% Cr, 0.01W0.5% N and the balance Fe. This material has superior erosion resistance to molten zinc and is a superior material for a galvanizing apparatus.
