Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled alloy causing no crack in the build-up welded layer during build-up welding by providing a specified composition consisting of B, Si, Cr, C and the balance Ni.
CONSTITUTION: This high toughness Ni alloy for build-up welding consists of, by weight, 0.05W1.5% B, 3W7% Si, 15W35% Cr, 0.05W1.5% C and the balance essentially Ni or contains ≤30% Fe and /or ≤5% W furthermore. This alloy is superior to a conventional self-fluxing Ni alloy in impact value and hardness × impact value (HS value), and it causes no crack in the build-up welded layer.
