Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide steel products for welding capable of increasing the toughness of each weld bond part and each weld heat-affected zone by adding a specified percentage of lower oxide of Ti regulated to a prescribed grain size or below.
CONSTITUTION: Steel products for welding are obtd. by adding 0.04W0.06% TiOx (x=0.65W1.3) having ≤5μm grain size to a steel. The suitable composition of the steel on which the effect of TiOx is exerted contains 0.01W0.23% C, 0.02W0.5% Si, 0.5W3% Mn, ≤0.03% P and ≤0.03% S as basic components. The effect of TiOx is independent of the adding method, and when powder of synthesized TiOx is uniformly dispersed and added to a molten steel in a steel casting process or a manufacturing process before the casting process to add TiOx to steel products, the effect is not changed.
