Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the adhesive strength of a plating layer by carrying out strike plating of Co beforehand in plating Cu, Ni, Cr, etc. on an amorphous metal for the purpose of reinforcing the same.
CONSTITUTION: An iron alloy such as Fe-Si, Fe-B or Fe-P is ultraquickly cooled from a molten state to produce a sheet-like amorphous metal. In the case of plating this metal with Cu, Ni, Cr, etc. for the purpose of reinforcing the same, strike plating of Co is carried out prior to the plating of these, after which Cu, Ni, Cr, etc. are plated. In case there is no strike plating of Co, the plating layers of Cu, Ni, Cr, etc. are vulnerable to exfoliation but if the strike plating of Co is beforehand carried out, the adhesive strength on the plating layers thereon is improved and does not cause exfoliation.
