Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the corrosion resistance of a Fe-Si-B type amorphous alloy by substituting an adequate amt. of Cr for part of the Fe in the alloy.
CONSTITUTION: Cr is substituted for 3W8 atomic% of Fe in an amorphous alloy such as Fe78Si10B12 used as a ferromagnetic material to enhance the corrosion resistance of the alloy. By further substituting Ni for up to 10 atomic% of the Fe content manufacture is facilitated. Thus, by this alloy compsn. an amorphous alloy is easily obtd. having high saturation magnetic flux density and superior corrosion resistance as the magnetic cores of applied parts of electronic equipment.
