Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten reliability of a semiconductor device by improving joining performance between a protective membrane and a resin body, by providing the resin body on a protective insulation membrane on a semiconductor chip surface through an insulation membrane containing an oxide membrane or oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion layer 2 is formed on an Si substrate 1, an Al electrode wiring 5 is provided through a thermal oxidation membrane 3a and CVD- PSG membrane 4, and further, in order to protect these products, on a semiconductor chip whose entire surface is covered with a nitride membrane 6, a resin body 8 of epoxy type resin, etc. is provided through an oxygen-containing insulation membrane, such as an oxinitride membrane 7, and in doing so the chip is protected from the open air. As joining performance between the protective membrane 6 and the resin 8 is improved by doing so, it is possible to heighten reliability of the semiconductor device.
