Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the ozone producing step, by eliminating the pressure reducing step of an oxygen recycling ozonizer, recovering oxygen after the desorption, and desorbing gases other than oxygen with a part of the oxygen from an oxygen generator.
CONSTITUTION: Air is fed from a dryer 15 and an oxygen generator 2 to an ozonizer 1. Part of the oxygen is converted into ozone, and adsorbed by a cooled adsorbing and desorbing column 31 packed with silica gel. The temperature of an adsorbing and desorbing column 32 packed with silica gel is increased, and an expelled gas from the oxygen generator 2 is fed from a valve 16 into the column 32 to desorb the ozone. After the desorbing step, pressurized oxygen is partly fed from the oxygen generator 2 through a valve 17 to the column 32, and the adsorbed nitrogen is desorbed and returned from a pressure regulator 18 to the oxygen generator 2. The column 32 is then put into the adsorbing operation, and the adsorbing and desorbing column 31 is put into the desorbing operation. The oxygen discharged from the adsorbing and desorbing column in the adsorbing step of ozone is returned from a pressure regulator 5 to the ozonizer 1 by a blower 14.
