Abstract

PURPOSE:To separate CO with high efficiency by flowing a gas contg. CO and N2 through an adsorption tower packed with Ca-X type zeolite expressed by Ca43(Al2O3)86(SiO2)108, adsorbing CO at <=-30 deg.C under high pressure, then desorbing the CO. CONSTITUTION:Synthesis gas produced in a producing apparatus 1 for the gas comprising CO and H2 is freed of water and CO2 in adsorption towers 8, 8a, then fed to CO adsorption towers 18, 18a. Said adsorption towers 18, 18a are packed with Ca-X type zeolite expressed by Ca43(Al2O3)86(SiO2)108, where CO is adsorbed at <=-30 deg.C under 1-5ata. On one hand, the adsorption tower 18a is evacuated with a vacuum pump 20 to 0.05-0.5ata when the adsorption tower 18 is in an adsorption stage, and CO is recovered by adsorption. Unadsorbed gas contg. N2 and H2 is discharged through a duct 23.
