Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce installation cost and running expense, water and CO2 are removed by adsorption using pressure-swing system and heat regeneration.
CONSTITUTION: Air as raw material is compressed 1, cooled by after-cooler 2 and cooler 3. After condensed water is removed by gas-liquid separator 4, the air passes through pipe 10, and is introduced into adsorption tower 5a, where water and CO2 are removed. Then the air is rectified in cryogenic separator 6. Impure N2 as waste gas, after desorption of water and CO2 by adsorption tower 5b, is discharged. The adsorption towers 5a, 5b are used while properly switched by pressure-swing adsorption system. The remaining impure N2 from pipe 12 is admitted in adsorption tower 5c, and after desorption of water and CO2 by heat-regeneration, discharged. Thus, two adsorption towers are used by pressure-swing adsorption system, and one by heat generation.
