Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically produce a small amount of oxygen-enriched air, by automatically controlling the separation of oxygen and the concentration of oxygen-enriched air by removing water and gaseous carbon dioxide contained in the air with an adsorbent having ability of a molecular sieve.
CONSTITUTION: Raw air is introduced to an air seperating tower 9a by a compressor 1 through an air drying apparatus 2 and a water seperating tower 3a to remove its water and gaseous carbon dioxide by adsorption. In the tower 9a, nitrogen contained in the raw air is adsorbed in a high-pressure static condition; and produced oxygen-enriched air is stored in an oxygen storing tower 10. Successively, a pressure reducing tower 15 and the tower 9a are communicated to each other by opening an automatic valve 17 to transfer the nitrogen to the tower 15. The enriched air stored in the tower 10 is returned to the tower 9a to produce air of high oxygen concentration by mixing with new air and successively, this air is still more concentrated to produce air of higher oxygen concentration, by removing nitrogen with the aid of an adsorption seperation, and is sent to the tower 10. The oxygen concentration of the air in the oxygen storing tower 10 is measured by a control meter 20 to put a command to a automatic control valve 21 to control the concentration of the oxygen of the air by throttling the outgoing gas flow rate.
