Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate uneven character of printing densitites by detecting the charge quantity applied on the surface of a charge latent image forming medium by a charge supply means and feeding the output signal thereof back to the charge supply means. CONSTITUTION:This recorder is provided with a photosensitive drum 1, a charger 2, a corona wire 16, a high voltage source 17 for applying voltage to the corona wire 16, a control circuit 18 and a surface potential sensor 19. The charge quantity on the photosensitive drum 1 surface is detected with the surface potential sensor 19 installed noncontactually with the photosensitive drum 1 behind the charger 2, and the result of this detection is fed back to the control circuit 18 which controls the high voltage power source 17. Thereby, the voltage to be applied to the corona wire 16 is so controlled that required charge potential is obtained.
