Abstract

1533311 Electrophotographic copying apparatus XEROX CORP 27 April 1976 [28 April 1975 26 Aug 1975] 17029/76 Heading B6C The apparatus comprises an imaging surface 12 with an electrically grounded substrate; a plurality of separate corona generators 14, 24, 33, 34, 46 having corona emitting electrodes 52 shielded with conductive shields 60; and current measurement means connectable between separate power supply means for each generator and said grounded substrate for measuring only the output current flowing between each individual corona generator and said imaging surface 12 independently of current flow to its respective shield 60, independently of input current to the generator, and independently of the flow of output current from other corona generators to said imaging surface 12. The current is measured by switching a volmeter to points A, C, D, E or F and measuring the potential across a pre-set resistor, such as 58 at point A. The D.C. and A.C. components of the current may be separately measured for A.C. generators 24, 34. The bias applied to the applicator rolls 22 of developing apparatus 20 may be measured also, at point B. Means for retroactively controlling each power supply means 54, to maintain a selected output current for its respective corona generator, is also provided.
