Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the distinct images of high contrast free from any photographic fog by changing the set potential of primary charging according to repetition times of destaticizing and exposure and controlling opposite polarity destaticizing according to the strength of primary set potential after the change thereby performing image formation.
CONSTITUTION: A photoreceptor 1 is grounded and moves in the arrow direction. It is applied with high voltage of positive polarity by a primary charging corona discharger 14. The current difference is measured 20 by the current detectors 18, 10 in the secondary side circuit of a high- voltage power source and the value thereof becomes the corona current value ID+ in the photoreceptor direction. At the same time, the negative polarity opposite from that of primary one is applied by a corona discharger 21 for exposure and the difference of the currents of current detectors 25, 26 is measured 27, whereby the value ID- is given. The current value (ID++ ID-) being the sum of the values obtained by both measurements 20, 27 is fed back to the input control circuit 29 of an opposite-polarity high-voltage power source 24 by a measuring means 25, whereby the value of the discharge current ID- being flowed to the photoreceptor is changed. Thereby, the value of (ID++ID-) may be made constant and the maintenance of the surface potential of the bright part of the photoreceptor at a constant value free from photographic fog is made possible.
