Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the device which is capable of forming stable images without decreasing speed by detecting respectively one of the values of the surface potentials of the bright part and dark part on a recording body before and after the image formation and controlling the voltage of chargers by the outputs of both. CONSTITUTION:Electrostatic latent images are formed on a photosensitive drum 47 by a primary charger 51, secondary destaticizer 69, full surface exposure lamp 68, blank exposure lamp 70, etc. At this time, a surface electrometer 67 is provided between the lamp 68 and developing device 65. First, the lamp 70 is lighted and the bright part potential is detected with the electrometer 67. Thence, the lamp 70 is put out and the dark part portential is detected. These are stored in circuits 112 and 111 respectively. These detection outputs are compared of the values having been stored and the values to be corrected by an arithmetic circuit and integrating circuit and the currents of a charger 57 and destaticizer 69 are controlled by way of high voltage power sources 123, 124. Thereby, the development bias may be corrected at every copying and the stable images may be obtained without decreasing speed.
