Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform detection of always accurate toner images by specifying the forming method of detection signal.
CONSTITUTION: A drift compensating circuit 13 constituted by a differential amplifier 33 and holding circuit 34 is connected to the amplifier 12 disposed to the stage next to a toner density detector 10. Then, when an analog switch 31 is turned ON in the state that the light emitting element 10a of the detector 10 is turned OFF for a fixed time after the operation start of the copying machine body, the drift potential generated in the detector 10 and amplifier 12 is charged and stored in a capacitor 32 and this storage value is fed back to one input side of the differential amplifier 33 through the holding circuit 34, and when the light emitting element 10a goes ON and the detector 10 detects the toner image density, the drift portion contained in the detection signal is cancelled. Hence, the detection of the always accurate toner image density is accomplished and the control accuracy and reliability in the various control circuit 22 improve.
