Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality electrostatic latent image with an electronic copier that performs the 1st electric charge and the 2nd electric charge having the opposite polarity to the 1st electric charge, by always keeping the potential at both the bright and dark parts at a constant level. CONSTITUTION:Both the bright and dark part potentials which are caused on a photoreceptor 1 by the white and black patterns 8 and 9 provided on an original board 5 are detected successively by a surface potential detecting sensor 6. This detected potential (a) of the bright and dark parts is fed to a microcomputer 10. The computer 10 controls high voltage generators 21a and 21b and then controls the discharged current of a charger 2 so that the potential of the bright part becomes equal to the reference value. At the same time, the discharged current is controlled for a charger 3 so as to set the potential of the dark part equal to the reference value. In such way, the potential is always kept at a constant level at both the bright and dark parts. Thus a high-quality electrostatic latent image is obtained regardless of the fatigue of a photoreceptor.
