Abstract

PURPOSE: A freezing mixture which is handy to carry and provides a long-lasting cooling action merely by mixing the components at the time of use, comprising a combination of a component prepared by coating particles of an inorganic acid salt of ammonia or the like with a protecting film and a component prepared by coating particles of a hydrated sulfate with a protecting film.
CONSTITUTION: Component (A) is prepared by coating in a thickness of 0.1W50μ, particles of at least two compounds selected from the group consisting of inorganic acid salts of ammonia, alkali or calcium, (for example, ammonium nitrate and ammonium chloride) with a nonabsorbing material such as methylcellulose. On the other hand, component (B) is obtained by coating in a thickness of 0.1W50μ, a hydrated sulfate containing at least ten water molecules, such as Na2SO4.10H2O, with a nonabsorbing material. The respective components (A) and (B) are filled in the two compartments 6 and 7 within a plastic bag 1 having a diaphragm 2 consisting of, for example, a uniaxially stretched plastic film. At the time of use, the components (A) 3 and (B) 4 are mixed by rupturing the diaphragm 2, thereby to produce a cooling action.
EFFECT: Deliquescence does not occur during storage.
