Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a developing powder having good triboelectricity and stable chargeability at low cost, by mixing a developing powder material containing salicylic acid or its derivative, an inorganic metal compound, and a binder resin to manufacture the developing powder by an ordinary method. CONSTITUTION:A binder resin, such as polystyrene, polyethylene, or polypropylene, 100pts.wt., preferably 0.1-20pts.wt. salicylic acid or its derivative, such as salicyloyl salicylic acid, and preferably 1-100pts.wt. inorganic metal compound, such as oxide or chloride of Fe, Cr, Al, or Mg are mixed to prepare a material for a developing powder. This mixture is processed by a known method, such as heat-melting and kneading, and then, finely pulverized to give a developing powder. This is good in triboelectricity and stable in chargeability, and can be obtained at low cost.
