Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare γ-Fe2O3 having wide service temperature range when used as an electronic material, etc., by pulverizing and oxidizing the mixed powder of Fe3O4 and γ-Al2O3.
CONSTITUTION: Mixed powder composed of 90W20mol% of Fe3O4 and 10W 80mol% of γ-Al2O3 is pulverized for ≥102 minutes, and oxidized in air. As an alternative method, a powdery mixture composed of 90W20mol% of γ-Fe2O3 and 10W80mol% of γ-Al2O3 is pulverized for ≥102 minutes. Transition temperature from γ-Fe2O3 to α-Fe2O3 can be increased by this process.
