Abstract

PURPOSE: A safe cooling agent, prepared by combining a hydrous sodium salt having the weathering property with an inorganic salt having the negative heat of solution and urea, having a large cooling capacity and improved storage stability.
CONSTITUTION: A cooling agent prepared by combining (A) one or two or more of hydrous sodium salts, e.g. Na2SO4.10H2O or Na2CO3. 10H2O, having the weathering property (easily releasing water of crystallization in air) with (B) urea and (C) one or two or more of inorganic salts, e.g. NaCl or KCl, having the negative heat of solution in an amount of 20W60pts.wt. component (B) and 5W30pts.wt. inorganic salts based on 100pts.wt. component (A). Preferably, 15pts.wt. or less cooling rate accelerator, e.g. water, or cooling rate retarder, e.g. silica, may be incorporated in any one of the components (A) and (B) according to the purpose of using the cooling agent. The components (A) and (B) are mixed in use.
