Abstract

PURPOSE: A heat-storing material that is made by adding a nucleating agent consisting of anhydrous sodium acetate and other sodium salts to sodium acetate trihydrate, thus being suitably used for air conditioning, because of its inhibiting supercooling and high phase-change stability for a long period of time.
CONSTITUTION: Anhydrous sodium acetate and other sodium salts, preferably sodium salts of organic carboxylic acid of 3 or more carbon atoms, sodium salt of phosphate or borate are added to sodium acetate trihydrate, preferably by 5W75mol%, as a nucleating agent to give the objective heat-storing material. The preferably example of the above sodium salt is disodium hydrogen phosphate, trisodium phosphate, sodium metaborate dihydrate, sodium oxalate, disodium maleate monohydrate or sodium caprylate.
USE: Recovery of waste heat and storage of sun heat.
