Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize heat-absorbing performance by inhibiting supercooling by precipitating Ba2+ ion contained as an impurity, by adding a Ba2+ ion-precipitant to a heat-accumulating material consisting of low-purity SrCl2.6H2O and a nucleating agent.
CONSTITUTION: A nucleating agent (B), a Ba2+ ion-precipitant (C) selected from sulfates and chromates such as Na2SO4 and Na2CrO4.4H2O and, if necessary, a thickening agent (D) such as carboxymethyl-celluslose, water (E) and a moderator for solidification heat dissipation (F), are added to SrCl2.6H2O (A) to obtain a heat- accumulating material.
